Partial Shipment FAQs

At Medical Monks, most orders we receive are shipped in full at the time of purchase. However, there are rare occasions where we are temporarily unable to fulfill all items on a customer’s order. This is either because a product is not in stock, or because the amount placed on order exceeds our current inventory.

To deliver your needed medical supplies as quickly as possible Medical Monks will often elect to ship whatever portion of your order we have in stock, right away. Any backordered products will ship as soon as they arrive at our warehouse facility.

NOTE: Medical Monks will NOT charge an additional shipping fee for any subsequent shipment made.

When Medical Monks chooses to partially ship an item, we may send only part of a box or case ordered by a customer.  For example, if an order is placed for one box of 10 bandages, we may only have 7 of the 10 bandages available, so only 7 bandages will ship and 3 bandages will be placed on backorder.

To make this clearer to our customers, on this email, we display quantities in the smallest units we have available to ship .

Under the section, Here’s What Just Shipped, we display the number of individual units sent next to the total number individual units left to send.

Under Still Awaiting Shipment, we list the number of individual units remaining to be sent.

Usually very soon!  Medical Monks will make every effort to deliver backordered products to you as quickly as possible.  Over 90% of the time, we can ship backordered products within 7 business days of a customer’s order date.

In exceptional situations, it may take longer than 7 business days. This is either because:

  1. Our resupply of that product has been delayed due to it being on manufacturer’s backorder.
  2. It is taking longer than expected to receive inbound shipments. Usually, it’s related to a delivery delay from our vendor(s).

Regardless of the situation, our customers can contact us at any time to:

  1. Request an availability ETA on any backordered item
  2. Request a substitute be shipped immediately
  3. Cancel the remainder of the order
Absolutely not. Medical Monks will never charge a fee for any subsequent shipment made because an item on your order was not in stock.
You will. The same day that a shipping label is applied to your package you will receive a follow up email with shipment tracking and details of what supplies are in the box.
Yes. We would be happy to work with you to identify products in stock that are direct, or close to direct, substitutes for the product(s) on backorder. We will be sure to immediately ship any substitute product you request.
Yes. Until the moment an ordered product is confirmed as shipped, it can be canceled for a full refund.
