ACTISORB Silver 220 Antimicrobial Binding Dressing utilizes a layer of charcoal and silver to trap and control odors and prevent bacteria from infecting a wound.
How ACTISORB Silver 220 Antimicrobial Dressings Work
Activated charcoal holds onto bacteria and toxins to reduce the amount of wound exudate. Reducing bioburden, the silver then kills the bacteria before it has a chance to spread.
Antimicrobial: The material’s antimicrobial properties guard against 150 wound-infecting microorganisms.
Optimal Wound Healing: The dressing helps create an optimal wound-healing environment. A nylon sleeve with a non-adhesive backing won’t stick to the skin, ensuring the wound won’t experience additional tissue damage.
After application, the dressing assists with controlling moisture, keeping the wound damp enough to heal but not to the point it extends the process.
Multiple Uses: Depending upon the injury, the patient may apply it as a primary dressing with a compression bandage, as a wound contact layer or with an adhesive border or tape to stay in place.
