Composition and Active Ingredients
Controlling Microorganisms: A scent-free formula targets difficult-to-reach areas, ensuring embedded particles do not irritate or delay the healing process and utilizes PHMB (Polyhexanide) to kill microorganisms.
Removes Outside Debris: Betaine, the formula’s other active ingredient, works to remove and flush any debris in the wound.
This compound creates a coating around the dirt and debris, which helps with extracting the outside particles from the damaged area, lessens the risk of necrotic tissue and assists with controlling the amount of wound exudate.
To Use
Prontosan Wound Irrigation Solution should be applied as part of the preparation process. The formula assists with cleansing the area, keeps it moist before the dressing is applied and helps create an environment for optimal healing.
- Apply the irrigation solution to a piece of gauze until it is saturated.
- Place the gauze directly on the wound.
- Leave the gauze in place for at least 10 minutes for absorption.
- After taking off the gauze, squeeze out any excess onto the wound.
- Avoid mixing with soaps, ointments and other cleansing agents, as the combination may compromise the solution’s effectiveness.
