An Update From Our Chief Operating Officer

Hello everyone! I hope 2023 is treating you well. 

Here in Pittsburgh, we’re still waiting on the Spring skies to clear and some sunshine to appear. While we wait, the Medical Monks team and I would like to use this May newsletter to update you on some exciting new developments coming in the second half of the year. We also want to thank you for your continued business and support. It is truly a pleasure to serve you each day.

Let’s jump right into these updates!

Medical Monks 2.0

When the Medical Monks website was first designed in 2016, our main goal was to allow our customers to find and order medical supplies as easily as possible. In service of that continued objective, we’ve made numerous improvements over the last seven years to the performance and user experience of the website. But we’ve always been limited by the original technology platform we used to build it.

Within the next few weeks, the Medical Monks site will transition to a brand-new platform that will provide countless enhancements. The result will be a much faster, more user-friendly shopping experience. We look forward to hearing your feedback!

Additional HSA/FSA Support

Medical Monks has always supported orders paid for using HSA/FSA funded cards, but we’ve not done a great job of advertising it. Nor have we implemented any services to support those who can utilize these accounts for payment. That’s about to change. 

We’ve recently partnered with Binkey, a software company whose goal is to help you “Unleash the full potential of your HSA/FSA”. Their service will make it easy to use and manage your HSA/FSA dollars on Medical Monks, as well as other websites that support transactions via those accounts. We’re excited to provide this new benefit and our hope is that it saves you money. Look for it on the checkout screen soon. 

Commitment to Health & Product Education

At Medical Monks, we do our best to become experts on the products we provide and the conditions they help manage. Our Customer Care team receives routine product and condition-based training from healthcare professionals, allowing them to better support you when you need it most. 

But we also do our best to pass our knowledge on to you!

If you haven’t before, please check out our resources section, which is full of useful content, including product demo videos and blog articles. Our blog provides helpful information on a range of topics related to the products we offer; like Why is My Wound Not Healing? or How to Prepare for Ostomy Surgery.

In our videos, we get hands-on with many of our best-selling products, from catheters to foam dressings. Consider subscribing to the Medical Monks Education YouTube Channel to receive updates when new videos are available.

Medical Monks Webinar Series

In June, Medical Monks will launch a monthly webinar series focused on providing customers with expert advice and helpful tips in the areas of wound, ostomy, and continence care. We already have several industry professionals and interesting topics set for the coming months.

We’ll communicate upcoming webinars via the email list and on our Facebook page, so keep your eyes peeled. All are welcome. We’re excited to see you!

Improving Returns

You asked, and we listened. Coming soon to Medical Monks, customers will be able to instantly initiate returns online. With just your order number and zip code, our new Returns Portal will give you control of your return on your own time. We’ll miss talking to you, though. Don’t be a stranger now!

Product Recommendations

If you visit our new “Top Brands” page, you’ll find product recommendations from our most trusted manufacturers and brands. So far, the feedback we’ve received has been extremely positive, so we’re going to continue to expand this service.

Coming soon, we’ll extend these recommendations in a more detailed way – individual category pages. We’ll list our favorite catheters, ostomy bags, or wound dressings directly on the page, and include our reasons for doing so. Our hope is that it provides additional information to help you make a confident, informed purchase.

Expedited Shipping Offered Online

Since our inception, we’ve provided air shipping services for those critical situations where a product is desperately needed ASAP. The only caveat being that those orders needed to be placed over the phone. 

Starting in July, we’ll be providing an “Expedited” shipping option at checkout that guarantees 2-3 business day delivery anywhere in the United States. Alaska and Hawaii residents rejoice!

Admittedly, the service will have some restrictions (like shipment size), but we’re confident this will enhance our ability to get supplies to ALL customers as soon as possible. More details to come.
