DermaSciences Xeroform Petrolatum Dressing
Xeroform, a petrolatum-impregnated dressing, creates a moist environment that aids in wound healing and allows for cleaner removal. Ideal for addressing full-thickness chronic, tunneling and non-infected wounds, Xeroform petrolatum dressing goes beyond the competition with the inclusion of three-percent bismuth tribromophenate.
How Xeroform Dressings Work
Xeroform is an impregnated gauze type of dressing with added 3% bismuth tribromophenate. In general, petrolatum impregnated dressings are designed to provide non-adherent packing for full-thickness wounds, creating an environment that facilitates the healing process. Xeroform dressings are made of fine, soft conformable gauze enhanced with white petrolatum.
Xeroform Dressing Features
- Allow for moderate delivery of the included solution.
- Help control bacteria present in the wound.
- Provide deodorizing properties.
- Add an additional layer of sterilization that’s necessary for certain medical environments like operating rooms.
- Won’t adhere to the wound bed, resulting in less-traumatic removal.
