Securi-T Ostomy Products Discontinued, but Don’t Fret!

As you likely know, here at Medical Monks we are committed to bringing you the best quality ostomy products at the lowest price point possible. This is why, along with the “big three” manufacturers, we have always stocked items from value brands you’ve come to trust.

One of these, the longstanding Securi-T line of pouching systems, has been discontinued by the manufacturer. As of this writing, Medical Monks stock is nearly depleted on these items, never to return.

Safe n’ Simple to the rescue

But don’t fret! If you’re a regular purchaser of Securi-T, we have good news. Safe n’ Simple, the budget-friendly ostomy accessory brand, has expanded into pouching systems with a new line that directly replaces each Securi-T product with a corresponding one of equal value and build-quality.

This includes all one-piece pouches and two-piece systems – with or without filter, closed and drainable.

Convert your pouch

In fact, Safe n’ Simple has made it so easy to convert into their new products that even the item numbers will remain essentially the same. To convert your Securi-T pouching product to the new version, simply add the prefix SNS.

For example, say your pouch of choice is the Securi-T Extended Wear Flat Cut-to-Fit One-Piece Drainable – item number 7612008. To purchase the Safe n’ Simple equivalent, you would search Medical Monks for product number SNS7612008. It’s as “simple” as that!

Compatibility

For two-piece users, it’s very important to note that, although the item numbers are the same, the old Securi-T barriers and pouches ARE NOT COMPATIBLE with the new Safe n’ Simple versions. The connections are not the same.

This means that if you have leftover Securi-T barriers, but have run out of pouches, you WILL NOT be able to use them with the new Safe n’ Simple equivalents, or vice-versa. You will need to buy BOTH the new barriers and the new pouches.

A note on billing

Although Medical Monks is strictly cash-pay, many of our customers nonetheless regularly bill ostomy supplies to their insurance and come to us for supplemental items. If you’re one of those people who regularly bills Securi-T, you’re unlikely to have a problem converting to Safe n’ Simple. Along with the item numbers, the billing codes price points will also be remaining the same. So, depending on your insurance, the transition should be just as smooth on the billing end.
