EXU-DRY dressings from Smith & Nephew are absorbent for optimal wound care. Choose EXU-DRY pads in a range of sizes and shapes to increase patients’ comfort and save caregivers’ time.
EXU-DRY dressings are designed to minimize adherence and provide greater comfort during and between dressing changes. The multilayered, sealed construction of EXU-DRY wound dressings creates a single, highly absorbent, anti-shear dressing that eliminates frayed edges, loose threads and linting. Soft, pliable and non-occlusive, EXU-DRY dressings will not disturb granulation tissue. EXU-DRY dressings are designed for exudate absorption and the management of partial- to full-thickness wounds, including ulcers — venous, arterial, diabetic and pressure ulcers — donor sites, surgical incisions, surgical excisions and burns (first- and second- degree).
Features of EXU-DRY Multilayered Dressings
• Outer Layer – High-density polyethylene
• Inner Layers – Highly absorbent rayon and cellulose blend

Benefits of Choosing EXU-DRY for Wound Care
EXU-DRY is a unique, one-piece dressing designed to cover a wound with reduced friction, saving nurses time and lowering total dressing costs. EXU-DRY replaces non-adherent dressings, gauze and abdominal pads.
Non-adherent to the wound, EXU-DRY is more comfortable for patients during and between dressing changes. An EXU-DRY pad’s anti-shear layer helps reduce shearing, which may help protect fragile granulation tissue. EXU-DRY’s one-piece, multilayered and sealed construction eliminates frayed edges, loose threads and linting.
Highly absorbent, EXU-DRY helps reduce the risk of maceration and irritation to the wound and surrounding tissue. EXU-DRY wicks away drainage from the wound into the dressing, reducing the frequency of dressing changes.
Non-occlusive, soft and pliable, EXU-DRY dressings are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to accommodate virtually any wound or body contour. Because EXU-DRY is permeable and non-occlusive, it can be used as a wet or dry dressing on clean or contaminated wounds.
EXU-DRY is compatible with most topical agents, liquids, creams and other wound care prep.
Indications and Uses for EXU-DRY Dressings
Indicated for exudate absorption and the management of partial- to full-thickness wounds. Some typical wounds include:
• Ulcers (venous, arterial, diabetic)
• Pressure sores
• Donor sites
• Surgical incisions
• Surgical excisions
• First- and second-degree burns
Precautions When Using EXU-DRY Wound Care Products
During the body’s normal healing process, unnecessary material is removed from the wound, which will make the wound appear larger after the first few dressing changes. If the wound continues to get larger after the first few dressing changes, consult an appropriate health care professional.
Should any signs of irritation (redness, swelling or an increased burning sensation), maceration (over-hydration of the skin), hyper-granulation (excess tissue), sensitivity or allergic reactions occur, discontinue use and consult an appropriate health care professional.
