Super Absorbers

Vliwasorb® & Vliwasorb® Border

Superabsorbent dressings with extremely high absorption and retention capacities

Super absorbent fiber core absorb many times its own weight in fluids and does not release the retained exudate even under mechanical pressure. This is how the wound margins are protected from maceration and makes Vliwasorb the comfortable wound dressing choice under compression bandages.

Managing heavily exuding wounds can be costly when valuable time and resources are spent on frequent dressing changes. Vliwasorb super absorbent dressing, with its very high absorption capacity, helps allow for fewer dressing changes which saves time and money.

Suprasorb A is ideal for the care of heavily exuding, superficial or deep wounds. A highly absorbent wound dressing, Suprasorb A is made from calcium alginate derived from natural brown seaweed. The soft dressing conforms easily to any wound base, it even fills deep wounds.

Suprasorb A absorbs large volumes of exudate by gel formation which creates a moist wound environment. The gel is formed through an exchange of calcium ions from the wound dressing with sodium ions in the wound exudate. Suprasorb A absorbs large volumes of exudate by a rapid gel formation which creates a moist wound environment. When changing the dressing the exudate is removed along with the alginate fibers.
